I used to have this great packet of info for wick drains and now I can't find it for anything. Does anyone have a nice tidy reference to design and settlement calcs for wick drains?

Go to Nilex.com. You can download their lengthy manual.

FHWA has extensive (free, downloadable) guidance for wick drains (from 1986). I did a recent project using this methodology: Effect of the Smear and Transition Zones around
Prefabricated Vertical Drains Installed in a Triangular
Pattern on the Rate of Soil Consolidation
D. Basu, S.M.ASCE1; and M. Prezzi, M.ASCE2 - from the ASCE Geotech Journal Jan/Feb 2007. Worked like a charm.

I flipped through that website. I think I'll spend the weekend looking through the rest. :)

Thanks!
