Why the Tube and Pipe fittings at Content Center doesn't have iMates?

I'm learning to authoring and publishing custom parts at Content Center and I noticed that Tube and Pipe fittings doesn't have iMates like others categories have it. I think a possible reason is because the iMates conflict with the pipe's routes, but I'm not sure about that.
