I have noticed that many vendors quote charge pumps with 316 SS internals for LACT units, whereas API 11N recommends that bronze fitted pumps should be furnished for sweet crude service, and cast iron pumps should be furnished for sour crude service.
I am curious why there is no mention of 316 SS fitted pumps in API 11N.
The application I am interested in at the moment is for sweet crude service, so I would think the vendors' standard 316 SS internals would be fine, but would like to confirm.
