I have the 3rd edition of Handbook of Hydraulic Resistance, by Idelchik, and I'd like to check Figure 3-7, "Dependence of the inlet resistance coefficient of a side orifice in the end section of the tube...," against the 4th edition. The figure doesn't seem to make sense, and I understand that many errors were corrected in the 4th edition. In particular, Figure 3-7 in the 3rd edition suggests that the resistance coefficient increases as the ratio of orifice area to tube cross-sectional area increases. This seems counterintuitive and also opposite from what Diagram 3-16 represents. Thanks for your help.
