White Fonts on Black and White Raster Image?

How can I maintain a white font being used over a raster image? The problem is when I select monochrome.ctb, and use white as my font color, the font turns to black.

Yes, that's normal.
Use colour 255 and screening 5 in your *.ctb...

you should be using acad.ctb instead.
