Hi

Can anybody suggest the best way to find out which standards apply to which country/operation??

Is there an efficient approach to this?
Does a database exist?

Thanks

The contract for a project often identifies mandatory standards. Some may mention some of the agencies. This leads one toward the US, European or other internation standards.

Thanks John

Sometimes you can get wind of what standards are applicable at pre-contract meetings but I have found that by the time orders are placed standards just come out of the woodwork which can cause extra heart ache.

I know you should not do too much until you have a clear picture but it would be useful if there was a directory list or cross reference of standard used for different countries such as India or the Norsok standrds for Norway etc.

Any links to this type of thing anyway?

Also if you are manufacturing an item for use in these countries. Typically most equipment would have to to meet CE marking - ATEX, UL, FM, CSA etc depending on where it was to be used. What about the rest of the world?
