Which pumps do need Min. flow line?

Hi,
Somebody told me only pumps with dicharge nozzle larger than 8 inch need "minimum flow line"? Is that correct?
What is the criteria for designing min. flow line for centrifugal pump? All Cent. pumps need it?

with regards to minimum flow requirements for centrifugal pumps, highly recommend obtain that quantity from the pump manufacturer. also, sizing of recir piping is dependent upon flow, with consideration to all process requirements. a prudent engineer will consider all operating scenarios for proposed cent pump and properly evaluate whether or not a recirc system is needed.

regarding > 8" discharge nozzle; irrelevant matter.
