For mid-sized assemblies in Inventor 8, what are the main differences we will perceive between the following graphics cards?

nVIDIA Quadro FX 500
nVIDIA Quadro FX 1000
nVIDIA Quadro FX 1500

Is it worth getting anything more than the 500?

What about for large assemblies?

thanks in advance

I'm having good luck with the FX500. I think I'm starting to hit the upper range of it's capacity (just starting to notice it struggle a little). I have a plant assembly with about 2000 parts, and about 40 piping runs. The piping module seems to suck up extra horsepower, so this may not be great comparison.

I think if you are going over 1500 parts the extra $$ for the 1000 or 1500 would be well worth it. There are alot of comparisons out there, and it looks like the entire configuration has almost as much to do with it as the card itself (CPU, ram, ram speed, bus capacity etc).

Search the Autodesk Newsgroup for some good discussion and links to other comparison sites.
