Geotechnical Engineering Techniques and Practices
Roy E. Hunt (1986)
ISBN # 0-07-031310-5

Have you tried Powells.com? They specialize in hard to find books. They also have a great supply of technical books.

I would try either eBay.com (you'd be surprised what people are selling), or Barnes and Noble (bn.com), in the used/out-of-print section.

I would suggest looking for it at bookfinder.com, that's where I've had the best luck finding out of print books.

McGraw-Hill gave this book different titles in UK & USA:
Geotechnical engineering techniques and practices,
London: McGraw-Hill, c1986.
Geotechnical engineering analysis and evaluation,
New York: McGraw-Hill, c1986.
Roy E. Hunt., 729 pages, ISBN: 0070313105
TA 705.H85 1986, Dewey 624.151 18

You might Hunt's newer book:
Geotechnical Engineering Investigation Handbook, 2nd Edn, 1080 pages, (2005) ISBN 0849321824.

A condensed version of this handbook is available as Geotechnical Investigation Methods 254 pages, (2006), ISBN 1420042742.
Another book by Hunt is Characteristics of Geologic Materials and Formations 342 pages, (2006) ISBN 1420042769.

The University of Pennsylvania Press (try the U of P Bookstore?) carries Hunt's Geotechnical Engineering Investigation Handbook. They may have Hunt's other books.
