Where can I find dessicant data?

I need to find data on variant types of dessicant materials, (absorption rates in different humidities, etc.). I'm finding it very difficult to find any data on this. Any advice?

A simple search engine check with the term "properties of desiccant materials" yields about 1.4 MILLION results.
You would still need to refine the search for the specific materials (or material vendors) you're looking for, but it's a start.

you mean spelling is important ?

Thanks for the help. I had no idea I could do a search engine check. Now I have the 1.4 million ads I was looking for!

The majority of data on desiccants is from the makers of the desiccants. It is likely the properties are closely tied to the specific manufacturing processes and so aren't transferable to any other manufacturer.

"I had no idea I could do a search engine check." wow !

I suspect you can google "what can't I google search for ?"

I suspect a degree of sarcasm in that reply.

But Joe - what property are you looking for and it always help to know what you're trying to do to understand which property is important.

Absorbtion rates are going to be dependant on a lots of things including temperature, relative humidty, air flow, surface area etc etc

The best plan would be to put together a description of the particular problem at hand and ask for input from the dessicant supplier technical support application engineers, who would have far more experience and be able to note any special circumstances for this application that might be unnoticed. Ask for pricing for the solutions that best fit the requirements.

Considerations like, how will it be packaged/contained? Is this a one-shot or will the desiccant be regenerated on-site? Will there be moisture indicating material to show when the material needs to be replaced? Is additional air filtering to prevent desiccant micro fragments from heading down-stream? How long should a portion of desiccant last? How much variation in the dehumidification needs are there (does it go from 1000 CFM 99% humidity to 10 CFM 30% humidity over different parts of the year)?

I am sure there are others.
