to make it around a 90 degree bend.

How big a rig?

Typical over the street/road machine or a deep drilling rig with a high/long mast?

Maneuvering on the site for placement can be a tougher requirement.

Deep oil drilling rig with a long mast.

Ask the drilling contractor what is required for the equipment being used or proposed. The radius is not the only factor since there could be some significant overhang the could change the requirements.

If you on a prairie, the overhang may not be a factor, but if you are in rock terrain or a virgin white pine forest, it makes a big difference.

I thought it was a bored piling rig which has to slew and move from pile to pile. If it's a deep oil drilling rig I didn't think it would do much turning. Is it driving around somewhere??

Call BP.

Reference the Architectural graphic standard where you'll find turning radii for different length and width rigs.

can anybody afford that book?
