hello to everybody here, I'm a student that is working on an engineering project for my class and it is based on holding irregular shapes in place as they are milled, what I'm asking to anyone here mainly manufacturing professionals what are some things that you think are needed to create something that can have an irregular shaped part stay in place as its milled?

edit: to clarify I'm not asking for ways to hold irregular shapes down but what should something holding said shapes have?

Most of the time you can mill special jaws for the mill vice. There are also low temperature melting compounds that are liquid when heated - put your part in and let the compound cool. For thin parts hot melt glue can sometimes be used.
