What resource is necessary to do a concrete unit job 1

Dear Forum....
I am quite fresh in civil engineering but I have one question:

How many / what man-power resource is necessary to construct 1 m3 reinforced concrete structure ?

What I mean: - there is one reinforced concrete box culvert and in BOQ (bill of quantity) it is written that it needs 400m3 of reinforced concrete.... so I want to estimate what man-power is necessary to accomplish a job.

May you help me with my question please... or give me some tips...

Preparing an Engineer's cost estimate or Contractor's bid on a project is a skill that is best learned by working with others who have experience on those matters.

However, everyone has to start somewhere. Good, up-to-date cost references are available from RS Means, see:

Even with this data, you will need a detailed understanding the work items needed for a project. As an example, SOME items for reinforced concrete would include:
1. Purchase & deliver permanent and temporary materials to job site.
2. Construct concrete forms.
3. Place and tie rebar.
4. Place concrete.
5. Remove (wreck) concrete forms.
6. and more.

For a box culvert there are also issues such as excavation, backfill, etc. These MAY be covered by other unit prices, instead of being included with the concrete unit price.

The biggest chance of error is NOT using the wrong price. It is forgetting to include an important work item.

As far as the man-power to do the job, that depends on the time schedule. If there is plenty of time, maybe 5 or 6 workers. If time is critical you may have to plan for extended hours since too many workers only get in each others way.

it is very likely that the price will include all trenching and backfill. Also you need to determine: is this cast in place or pre-cast? Will you need waterstops? Is there dewatering necessary in the trench and is that included in the unit price? What is the maximum length of pour? How is it to be cured? How long until it can be backfilled? Is the rebar epoxy coated? Will you need special measures for cold or hot weather? Is special bedding required? If pre-cast, what type of waterproofing and joint treatment is necessary? If pre-cast, will a starter slab be used? If pre-cast, how far away is the casting yard? Is the labor force organized in a union? Are there any special permit requirements? Is it a short or long construction schedule? Is the project in the city or far away? Will concrete be batched on site or delivered redi-mix? Anything special about the mix design for the concrete? How deep is the trench? Will special shoring be required? Is the trench considered to be a confined space and is permit required? Is traffic control included? Did I miss anything important?
