What is vapour binding

Can any one tell me what is vapour binding as it relates to hydrocarbon streams and errors in differential pressure flow measurement?
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I assume you mean the more common term of vapor lock. This is where you have a fluid operating at a temperature and pressure that allows it to vaporize which basically blocks the line such as pump suction.

vaporization does not necessarily block the line, as there many situations which will continue to flow in the vapor phase or in some combination of two phase flow, should vaporization occur.

Vapor lock occurs when the weight of all liquid column(s) being lifted or pushed along a tube by a vapor column(s) + downstream pressure become(s) equal to the weight of the vapor column(s) + upstream pressure.

Although there may be more definitions of vapor lock, a common one I remember is the partial or complete interruption of flow of fuel in a gasoline engine caused by formation of vapor or gas bubbles on the fuel-feeding system.
