What is this "Feature group of fillet weld", and how to achieve similar function?

Dear All,

I find a feature of "FILLET_WELD" in a part for practice, and the feather's icon indicates it's a feature group, but with hidden feature members, and editing on it will invoke a dialog of welding parameters.

Please see the attached screenshot:

I just wonder what this feature is, and is it made by knowledge fusion or just a weld assistant feature of previous version? Can I make a feature group with editing dialog by myself?

Regards,
Tan

This is coming from the Weld assistant.
You can of course partly recreate it (solids and links to faces) but the link to the Automatic Welding symbols which it can create on drawings is not possible without some coding...

Thanks for your quick reply, Ronald.

I am not familiar with NX history, but in latest release, weld assistant is of block style UI, and its icon and feature type is not the ones of feature group. So, did you mean that is the weld assistant feature of older NX version?

BTW, I am also interest in how to create a feature group with config dialog in a neat way like this, if it is not from weld assistant.

I don't know how the weld assistant or its results look in NX10.
I know this is how it looked in NX9...

It might be possible to do this using Product Template Studio. Also requires a license.
Otherwise there are always the coding tools available from NX (NXopen, Snap, etc)

OK, I get it now.)

Here is the block UI in NX10.

And there's a folder "UGWELD" in UGII_BASE_DIR, with subfolder "application" and "startup" in it, a typical customization structure.

Have a good day.
