Hi All,

Appreciate if someone can explain the meaning of "in-service". Is it after A.I signed off the MDR? Thank you in advance

Pennpiper,

Thank you for your effort. But i'm looking for the meaning of "in-service", it terms and reference. As mentioned by my colleague, It is considered in services when the MDR has been signed off by A.I. Is it true?

It might help if you clarify the context. Generally, "in service" would be taken to be in use for the intended function.

"In Service" period only starts when it has been actually put into service, actually used. A tank or vessel can be installed, painted, hydro'd, piped up to [including welded connections] but it is still not In-Service until a process fluid has been put in it.

For the purpose of establishing when the next tank inspection date is, "in service" may need to be "ready for service". Otherwise it is generally taken to be the date at which the fluid it is intended to store if first introduced into the tank.
