Hi all,

Would somebody be able to explain the significance of this quantity. I am trying to analyse a gearbox shaftto findassociated max and min principal stress and max shear stress on certain features(section changes). I have created measures on these features for these quantities but am finding that the max stress values are experienced in only local areas. I am trying to compare values taken from Mohr's circle. Would a measure for Max Abs Principal be more appropriate?

Thanks for any help.
