I am currently re-drawing some very old (1946) drawings in 3D. One of the parts is a Bushing made in B.H.G. What is this material, can anyone please help????
Many thanks.

Bloody Hard Graphite??

Really it could stand for anything. It may be a Manufacturers shorthand for his own specified material.

Brass-handled Gonads?
Borehole Gradiometer?

Considering you say it says Made in not made of- BHG could well be a country or area perhaps in their own language.

Probably a variant on brass impregnated graphite, such as "brass hardened graphite"

Big Honkin' Gonads. My father was a draftsman around that time ...

Seriously, you may have to scan through one of these massive internet acronym compendiums - just google for it.

Hi, thank you all for your ideas!!!
I am going down the "brass hardened graphite" route as that seems the most likely.
Thanks again.

These is an old German firm Baumaterialien-Handelsgesellschaft AG (BHG) that makes hardware.
