What does ETABLE of Volume for plane182 return ?

If I am running a plane strain analysis with plane182's and I etable volume, what number is ansys returning since there is no thickness associated with the element? I'm trying to get the area of the element, but it doesn't have an etable option for area. Thanks for any help you can provide.

Hello,

the element has a associated thickness: this is defined with the help of real constants. If you do not define a thickness, then the associated thickness will be 1. That way you will get just what you want: the area of the element, since in that case the area is equal the volume.
