What do u thing about YOKOGAWA PROSAFE SYSTEM.

In my plant , we decided to change our emergency shut down system (now we have AGUST ESD sytem)with Yokogawa prosafe ESD system..

Can u explain what are the adventages or disadvantages Yokogawa Prosafe to Triconex.

Triconex ESD system is more expensive than Yokogawa ESD system.
Why it is more expensive, are there lots of difference between Triconex with Yokogawa Prosafe??

Yokogawa SIS system offering is solid and on par with the other DCS vendor's SIS offerings.

Yokogawa's application is run by ICS Triplex, a SIS system vendor. The hardware is Yokogawa, but the software is Triplex. (at least something to that affect....)

IMHO, Yokogawa is trying hard to buy market share by keeping their prices low. I see this in their pricing on DCS systems, and a comment by their president about 10 years ago saying they will be doing what they can to become number one. I translate this into low prices to get their foot in the door.

I think so

Last year we enlarged Yokogawa DCS system, we bought new FCS from Yokogawa to control new 400 IO in my plant , (last year we replaced 6th FCS ).

Our new FCS price is nearly with new ESD system .

I agreed with "Yokogawa is trying hard to buy market share by keeping their prices low"

Thanks
