Howdy all,
I'm reverse engineering a screw actuator used to open and close a small vent door on a air conditioning vent louver. The thread is a 1/4-20 3 start thread with an aluminum stud and a steel trunion nut. I'm going to need to order a tap and die set to cut these and I was wondering if I should loosen the class from 2A and 2B to 1A and 1B so that it can turn more freely even if it gets dust and dirt in it. Is this a good idea or not?
Thanks,

Remember, first define the problem, then solve it.
