What are Hazen and Gardner scales

Can any one help,

What does 50 Hazen mean, what is it referring to. Also what does Gardner measure.

These are colour scales covered by ASTM D 1209/5386/6166.
I believe there are a variety of websites dealing with these tintometric methods that can be found just by writing Gardner scales or Hazen scales.
