Is there a requirement for minimum bolt gage for connecting to wf column webs?
Understandably perpendicular bolt clearances are of interest but with angles welded to the beam, is there an AISC or other requirement on minimum bolt gage in the column web?

Running a connection program and it's flagging a particular gage as less than 5 1/2" (which is not settable in the software), so I am trying to sort out whether it's just a program preset issue or a code stipulation.

See page 10-7 in the AISC manual for details on "riding the fillet". You can definitely push that beyond what the software is spitting out.

There is no code requirement on the minimum. Just practical considerations, like bolt head and tool clearance.

Teh,

Might there be a link to that or do you have it?

StructuralEd: It's in the AISC steel manual part 10. Here's a link to basically what that section will tell you:
You can probably google it as well and get some good information. But more or less what nutte said; there's no code requirement just what can practically be built given bolt and tool clearance.
