Hi,

As part of our scheme design, I'm to design a wet well pumping station with submersible pump. We're stuck at the wet well sizing.
We have 44.4l/s or 160m3/h of influent, that's assuming 6 time dry weather flow. 13.7m static head and we have to pump it 470m.
How would you go about it.

We used Vmin = Qout x Tmin / 4 which gave us minimum size of the tank

1.6m long, 2.6m wide and 2.5m deep. Pump would have to run all the time to pump it out.

Now we're considering to use a retention tank 20x20m by 2.5m deep, but I think it's an overkill

If you could help us out or recommend something.

There are a number of important factors that you have not addressed. For example, if you plan to utilize variable speed pumps, the wetwell will be smaller. You also will have requirements from the regulatory agency. The elevation of the sewer inlet is also important.
