Is there a standard for welding metal deck which is in a vertical orientation?

I would use AWS D1.1 for guidance.

The AWS welding code for welding sheet steel to sheet steel or sheet steel to supporting structural members is D1.3.

AWS D1.3 Table 1.2 covers Welding Positions and Restrictions for WPS
