As per the subject material I need to get this.

I wish to do this for cast iron welding.I was told to get SG material but it is not easily obtainable

What is the best or correct material to use to obtain the weld procedures,etc

Do you have a basic understanding of what is a welding procedure specification (WPS) and what it means to qualify it? Do you know how to qualify welders? What Code are you using to qualify welding procedures? EN, ASME, or AWS?

We do have a basic understanding of procedures on WPS,PQR and WELDERS QUALIFICATION.

Will be working to ASME code.

Ok. For WPS and welder performance qualification, purchase grey iron castings and follow Section IX. Review SA 278 castings. You may need to purchase from a foundry one or more cast valve bodies and use them for WPS qualification and welder performance qualification.

Mechanical repair methods are recommended for gray iron. You'll have a difficult time trying to weld repair gray iron.
