Dear All,

Can some body advice me which type of electrode can I use to weld XC48 or C45 to S235JR (EN10025) material.
(ALL carbon steel)

Thank you in advance

Based on what I have seen for S235JR plate material (which is a low carbon steel for structural applications), I would probably use an E7018 H4 weld rod (SMAW process). The C45 carbon steel will have higher carbon content in comparison to S235JR so you will need preheat requirements and possibly even post weld heat treatment requirements (depending on the application).
