welding build up permission on SA266

I am looking for a standard code and permission for repair of mechanical damaged surface on a tube sheet with SA266 by welding build up. any body can help and guidance me?

I have welding procedure for build up on this tube sheet but my client dont accept any build up repair on tube sheet without any standard code permission. I am looking for a standard code for permission of doing welding build up on forge material.

ASTM A266 (carbon steel forging) says this about repair welding -

9. Repair Welding
9.1 Repair welding of forgings is permissible only at the
option of the purchaser. If repair welding is performed, welders
and weld procedures shall be qualified in accordance with
Section IX of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code.

Hi Ironic,

Yes.

But I proposed something similar in alisharif's double post in some other ET forum.
Here we may well have a language complication, in which cases I am sometimes willing to try to "prime the pump" a bit rather than resort immediately to applications of "the stick."
