I'm looking for references on the design procedure for welded aluminium structures. Surprisingly the aluminium design guide doesn't seem to outline a design procedure.

Aluminum Structures by Randolph Kissell.
This's a pretty good read; some of the tables are printed too dark though, so you may want to hunt down the source reference material or "borrow" better Kissell scans available on the web.
(what's frustrating is that the the aluminum design manual made reference to in the book may be hard to obtain/prohibitively expensive out of pocket otherwise).
