Weld symbol? 3

Where can I find the weld symbol for High Vacuum Electron Beam Weld? My CAD package has several symbols but his does not appear to be one of them.

I was not aware that there were welding symbols for any welding processes. The AWS abbreviation for the process you noted is: EBW-HV.

Try AWS American Welding Society publication AWS A2.4 "Symbols for Welding and Nondestructive Testing". My version A2/4-79 does not have one but I bet the latest version does.

EN 24063, which is similar to ISO 4063, uses the following process name:

Electron beam welding

The reference number is 76. EN 24063 was last revised in 1992, but ISO 4063 has a more recent revision, 1998, so perhaps it differentiates vacuum electron beam welding from non-vacuum electron beam welding.

CWIC is correct, welding symbols do not have different figures for different welding processes. The graphic part of the sybmol only conveys the type of joint, ie fillet, single bevel groove, spot, seam, or in the case of EB, possibly a square groove. The welding sybmol can call out the joint preperation, root gap, etc, but if a specific process is required, that goes as a note in the tail of the symbol, using the EBW-HV as CWIC so mentioned.
