I would like to weld two 1/8 fillet welds 1/4 inch long on 1” rod 180° apart. Which is the proper way to callout the weld per AMS 2.4:

1/8 (Fillet Symbol) 1/4”-180°

or:

1/8 (Fillet Symbol) 1/4”-1/2”

or:

1/8 (Fillet Symbol) 1/4”-2 23/64”

NOTE: 2 23/6 is the approximate circular distance around the perimeter of the rod.

Never argue with an idiot. They'll bring you down to their level and beat you with experience every time.

The basic question is what is the proper way to define the pitch on a circular weld path? Should you do it with an angle or a circular length?

Sorry about that, I thought that web page would answer your question. I would circular length unless the starting point is critical and you're not wanting it to go 360 deg.
