Reference Thread thread561-400674

Hi, I'm new to the forum so please excuse any etiquette I may not be aware of.
I have NX 9.0.3.4 MP15

Similar to the reference thread I mentioned (but opposite), I am trying to link multiple bodies into one feature.
My assembly structure is as follows:
Assembly
----Sub Assembly
--------Part 1
--------Part 2

While "Assembly" is the work part I want to create a linked body feature that includes the sub assembly, Part 1, and Part 2.
I open the WAVE Geometry Linker dialog, select all of the bodies, check associative, and choose "One Feature for All Bodies" from the Feature drop down.
Instead of my expectation of 1 linked body feature in my part navigator I get individual linked bodies.

Any help would be appreciated.

It does exactly what it says. It creates one feature for all Bodies, not one for all components :)
If there are multiple bodies in one component, you will end up with one feature for those bodies.

NX allows you to have any number of bodies per file. This is not a limitation/restriction in NX. ( these bodies can be any type, sheet body as well as solid body.)
But, when you create wave links, it will not allow you to create a single feature where the master data is in different files.
If you edit one of these wave links, you will see the name of the master component, you can then edit the content of that wave link, including selecting bodies from a different component.

Regards,
Tomas
