I found this website through your response to a question very similar to the one that I am asking. I am using watercad and connecting my model to an existing city water main. WaterCad recommends using a resevoir and a 3-point pump. My model seems to work fine when I just use a resevoir after converting all of my hydrant test data to feet of head. I wasn't really sure why the programs recommends this? What is the advantage? Is it helpful for multiple connections? I am sure it works great when you have pressure data that fits nicely within the 3 points. If I use a demand that is outside of the 3 point pump curve, the pressure begins to collapse like the computer does not have any data. For this model, I am sticking with the resevoir because it is working but I would appreciate some feedback.
