Water Usage Stastics - Reuse Design

Hello Everyone,

I'm looking for a design resource to gauge the amount of water each person will use for: showering & toilet / day.

The facility is an addiction treatment centre.

We would like to reuse the shower water for toilet water, so for such a facility i'm looking at design value for Time showered per person per day, and number of flushes per person per day. Could anyone point me at a good resource / book for this information. Thanks so much.

Don't think that you will find precise numbers, only estimates.

Old showers use up to 5 gallons of water per minute. Water-saving shower heads produce about 2 gallons per minute.

3 gallons per day for toilet per person. Most new toilets use 1.6 gallons per flush, but many older toilets used about 4 gallons.

The average American shower uses 17.2 gallons (65.1 liters) and lasts for 8.2 minutes at average flow rate of 2.1 gallons per minute (gpm) (7.9 lpm).
