My new water pressure switch keeps cutting in and out until I adjust the springs. Now I have too much water pressure but if I adjust the spring settings down it starts to cut in and out again. I hope this makes sense to you. Any ideas?

Have you checked the precharge on your pressure tank, I assume you are have a well. The bladder may have a hole in it, or if it is the open type when is the last time you added air?

The precharge on the pressure tank should be 2 psi lower than the cut in pressure, that is will zero pressure in the system the precharge would be 38 psi with cut in at 40 and cut out at 60

Pressure switches will have two adjustments the primary setting will adjust cut in and cut out pressures and a offset setting will adjust either the cut in or cut out depending upon the brand (same size nut but off to the side) look inside the cover there will be a small diagram tha may help
