Is there any reason for water to freeze in evaporator of an

absorption chiller if the pressure is higher than 4.6 mm.Hg?

The temperature dropping below the freezing point of water would be a reason.

Saturation temp. in a pressure higher than 4.6 mm.Hg is higher than 0 degree centigrade.
The enviorment temp. is considered to be high enough.

MintJ,Good one!Jokes aside water will not freeze in an absorption machine. The lowest temperature for water(regrigerant spray in absorber) is about 4C.so it is very unlikely water temperaure will drop below 6c in the evaporator. It is not clear how you came to the conclusion that water froze in the machine.

SAK9,
I think the same way.But if so,why there are freeze protecting controls on some (lithium bromide+ water) models?
By the way I've heard of cases of freezing in these chillers.
