Water Energizer Experience?

I've got a water cooling tower that services several elderly pieces of metal melting and forging equipment with piping of various materials. Corrosion is a concern, and we installed water energizers on a trial basis. There was no water treatment previously. We hung a corrosion coupon in the system, and got poor results. Anyone have experience, good or bad with water energizers? Does their effectiveness increase with time, or are they useless, or unsuited to some applications? I'm considering going to chemical treatment.

Don't know what a "water energizer" is, but, suspect it is one of the electrostatic or magnetic devices. Stick with good chemical treatment that is proven technology. Some have said that the electrostatic or magnetic devices "can" work if "properly" applied. I am still skeptical. We know chemical treatment works.

LOL...I agree with your take on this....I am thinking we can add "water energizer" to the mile long list of quack names for, dare I say....magnets...

Bob,

I can't stop laughing, but, please do add that to the LIST.

In spite of well-documented failures of this or similar "technologies". i.e magnetism, etc., as far back as the 1960's that I am aware of, it still manages to hang on.

As others have stated, nothing today beats a well thought out and applied chemical treatment system for water-side corrosion control. Please don't get sucked in to the "Water Energizer" hype......it's a tissue paper bag that holds no water!
