Does anybody work in either a wastewater or drinking water treatment plant? I am wondering how you like the jobs. How many years have you been working. What is the environment like? I am applying for operator in training licences and certificates at the moment and I am curious.

Is drinking water treatment more cleanly than wastewater treatment? I read there is a lot of poop to deal with.
Thank you.

The work will depend somewhat on the size and type of facility. For example, a wastewater recycling plant is probably not much different than a water plant.

Operator tasks are probably not much different for water or wastewater. Maintenance and repair of water or wastewater systems is different. In general, a wastewater plant would be less clean and more odorous.

I would think that you also would get involved in the water distribution and wastewater collection systems. Repairs to these systems will be messy, but having to work with sewage is not glamorous.
