I'm trying to use a Variable Section Sweep in order to cut an involute gear tooth profile through a helical datum curve.
I have 2 involute datum curves that define the section I want to cut. I'm using 'use edge' in sketcher to define the cut sketch.
The involutes and the trajectory I want to follow are all using equations.
What VSS options should I use to do this?
I think I should: cut-advanced-VSS-NormToOrig-(axis of gear cylinder for origin trajectory)-(helical datum curve for X-trajectory), but this always results in a straight cut that doesn't even attempt to follow the helical datum curve.
Any suggestions?
