Hello,
I have a question about the type of bushing material that should be used in VS pumps, e.g. VS4. API 610 recommends the material filled carbon for bowl shaft bushings. What about pumping gasoline, i.e. flammable liquid. What about wetting the bushings, is it enough to wet the pumped liquid and avoid the risk of explosion.

Does the API 610 standard allow the use of bushing materials other than filled carbon?

Some kind of helpful not.
Is it possible to wet the bushing with pumped liquid when pumping gasoline?

Try the pump forum.

What you suggest doesn't sound like a good idea so may not be suitable for gasoline service.
