Hy, I'm looking for volume expansivity coefficient for olephine C10+ (162 M.W.) as I must sizing a RV for thermal expansion?
The normal temperature is 35°C and the valve is set at 16 barg (temperature 70°C). Does someone have some refernce for me?
Thank you very much.

Danielezammara: I couldn't find in the literature the value for the cubic thermal expansion of C10+ olefins, but I pressume it couldn't be far away from the values for decane or undecane at 25 Celsius ie around 0.001/Celsius, I'd use a correction of 0.003 x delta t for a bit higher temperatures. The isothermal compressibility would be about 0.0011/Mpa with a correction factor of 0.08 x delta t a few degrees above 25 Celsius.

By dividing both values, the developed pressure in a packed up situation on heating would be estimated at around 1.2 Mpa/Celsius or 12 bar/Celsius.

Although the result doesn't refer to C10+ olefins, as you asked, I hope it is of help.
