I have a 5/8" orifice solenoid valve controlling room air with a differential pressure varying between 0.1 psi and 5.0 psi. Attached to this post is a sketch of the valve: Open, Closed, section Closed, and detail of o-ring Closed.

Even though the pressures are very low and the resultant force small, because the pressure does vary I need to know how the o-ring will deform. Specifically, I need a model that will predict the size of the flattened widths on the o-ring's cross section.

These o-rings are almost certain to end up fabricated from Viton, although the grade and duro are TBD.

Thank you very much for your help!
Dave
