It seems like Abaqus CAE does not display shell rendering of a tapered thickness when elemental or nodal distribution is used to define shell thickness section property.

The issue is that I dunno if my definition is correct or not. Is there anyway I can visualize either an existing discrete or analytical field?

For the shell thickness, you can view it as a contour plot if you output the STH variable. It won't render the thickness geometrically, but you can at least get an idea of it from the contour.

Thanks zwtipp05 for that tip. Will try it out. I have defined shell reference surface as bottom surface of the section. Would have been useful if Abaqus CAE rendered the shell thickness.

Guess, will have to manage.
