Hello,

I have an HMI installed in a generating plant. It is a Magelis MPC control box running Vijeo Look 2.0 as the SCADA software.

It has been installed for approximately 6 months, and ran smoothly up until now. The Log viewer (which is an activex control) is now taking approximately 3-5 minutes to load up and the data is no longer rolling off in a FIFO manner.

There are only 100 points stored in the viewer, so that shouldn't slow it down. Does anyone have any experience with Vijeo? Could vijeo be saving an enormous amount of data to the harddrive and scanning through that eventhough it only diplays 100 points? If so how do I clear the data base?

Regards,
TULUM

Tulum,

Just a quick question, how often do you save the log?

hao129,

Thanks for the response.

This may sound a little silly....but the question never arose! The HMI must save at a default rate - factory setting.

It was my first time doing an HMI (not my area). The only issues I was initially concerned with was purging the data in a timely matter.

Could the frequency at which it is saving the log be the problem??

Any further assistance would be appreciated. In the mean time I will look into the frequency at which the log is being saved.

TULUM

Tulum,

I can't think of anything else that would delay it other than background applications. Assuming that you have locked the operators from installing other programs that might not be required, the log size is the only thing I can think of that would slow the HMI down.

It might be a good idea though to check the task manager and if the computer is connected to the internet to do some cleaning in that area.

Hope this helps

What is the box operating system, WindowsCE? The datalog rate and the size of the data files could for sure be a problem.

Hi.

I have been asked to look at a system running vijeo. I think it seems to be suffering a similar proble in so far as it logs for a period then seems to stop logging.

If I find anything, I will let you know.

Certainly in the UK, this seems to be a package very few people are familiar with and I would like to hear from anyone who may be a guru on this. (By GURU I mean slightly better than beginner!!!)
