Vibration monitoring of antenna pedestals

Does anyone have experience with using vibration analysis on the drive mechanisms of tracking antenna systems? Is it effective in detecting common failure modes? (Not concerned with structural vibration, modal studies, etc.)

We have done vibration analysis on this application utilizing acceleration enveloping "demodulation" techniques. It was effective in discovering bearing fault frequencies when present. Feel free to contact directly.
