I am making the sewage network. At the moment I am at canal structures - weirs and theis properties. I am not sure what "vertical height of weir opening" should be ? Is this distance between water level and weir crest? Is this height of weir crest from bottom of canal? Or this is vertical height of opening? But there is no upward limit in my case. Could you show me this characteristic in attached picture.

Gneissanau,

The weir height you are referring to is the vertical height of the weir opening (in ft or m). This distance is measured vertically from the weir crest. In your picture this distance would be Hc + a distance to say the top of a manhole or vertical limit of the structure. HW would be the inlet offset.

Hope this helps.

ooopppss sorry for the confusion...yes the picture looks correct
