Version control with Subversion

Is anyone using a Subversion repository to control their SW parts, assemblies, and drawings? I'm looking into this for my company and it seems to be pretty easy to use and set up. If you have direct experience, I'd be interested in hearing about your "best practice" recommendations or any "deal-breaker" behavior.
