In our plant we have 3 scrubbers - Acidic scrubber for acidic vents alkaline for alkaline vents and a.charcoal bed for solvents. Now can you please give tips or philosophy on selecting whether nature of chemical is acidic or alkaline?? For eg. HCL aq soln vessel vent will be acidic but what for suppose sodium nitrite or maybe ethyl.acetate or xylene...how to know their nature...google isnt helping much.

Educating you on scrubbers as a vent treatment system is too broad. We'd have to write a book on the subject. Resources on this are out there. When you have a more specific question, I'll be glad to help.

Good Luck,
Latexman
