VBA with Solidworks 1

All,

My boss has tasked me with expoloring the possibility of automating our Quoting process for simple parts.

While I do hold a CompSci degree I have never programmed in VBA nor have I ever used Solidworks. I have done some preliminary research and found that Solidworks comes with a VBA editor in the DWG component ... not sure if that is what I am going to need. Additionaly, I have also downloaded the MS VB Express package.

My questions are:

1) Can the Solidworks API pass the dimentional data to VB for processing (Parsing, formatting, sending to email, printer ... etc)?

2) Has anyone done this before? That would be sweet if so.

Please let me know either way.

yes, API can pass dim data.

Better to post this in the SolidWorks 3D CAD Products forum or any of the SolidWorks-specific newsgroups found on the internet.
