hello all,
i have come across a calculation for CRN registration of divertor valve for non-lethal service (1" ASME 300#). As per the calculations the valve uses B31.1 code for wall thickness and bolt sizing. Isnt it ASME B16.34 is the correct code of construction for valves. is the above method of calculation is accepted. Also i have found no standard for the stem-packing gland calculation(Bolt sizing and wall thickness). Please advice me on above queries..

Thanks in advance

B31.1 ("Power Piping Design") refers the reader to B16.34, so there isn't a conflict despite the duality you refer to.
